When you are looking at objects at extreme distance, a spotting scope is the perfect answer. If a small size and weight is the overriding factor, the Magnaloux 12-36x50 compact scope is ideal. For digi-scoping, the Magnaloux HD100 is a great choice.

    The camera body attaches directly onto the scope by means of an adapter and a T2 mount (for whichever model DSLR you have- these are available at all good camera shops at reasonable cost). The adapter screws over the eyepiece of the scope, the T2 mount screws onto the adapter and then the DSLR bayonets directly onto the T2 mount. Focus is done manually using the spotting scopes focusing wheel.
