Nature & Birdwatching

The traditional binocular for bird watching has been the 8x40 (or 42) or a 10x50 (or 42). These offer the advantages of brightness, a wide angle (especially in the 8x) and a binocular that can held steady.

In recent years compact binoculars have become more popular and while they do not offer the performance in poor light that say an 8x42 will give, they are significantly lighter and smaller. If weight is a factor and they are to be used in good light then an 8x25 or a 10x25 are a great option.
