£299.99In StockThis large 150mm (6 inch) reflecting astronomical telesecope is aimed at the beginner who wants to grow into the hobby of astronomy. The scope comes with a tripod, EQ (Equatorial Mount) head, finderscope and a high quality 25mm Magnaloux Plossl lens (giving a magnification of 56x). Other magnifications may be achieved by using an additional Magnaloux Plossl lens.
The effective magnification may be calculated by dividing the focal length of the astroscope (1400mm) by the focal length of the plossl lens eg a 10mm plossl will give a 1400/10=140x magnification.

I must say the LC2 series which are nitrogen filled were fantastic! I packed a pair on one of my trips to Botswana and it proved to be a worthwhile investment as it weighs so little, so if you are lugging heavy bags, there is no reason why you cannot take this little beauty with you. I would strongly recommend the LC2's as a personal favourite, but for overweight bags and the like, I suggest bring a long a pair of the GTX's.
